E-SE is an emulsion of selenium-tocopherol for the prevention and treatment of myositis (Selenium-Tocopherol Deficiency) syndrome in horses. Each mL contains: sodium selenite (equivalent to selenium 2.5 mg) 5.48 mg, vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopheryl acetate) 50 mg (68 IU), polyoxyethylated vegetable oil 250 mg, benzyl alcohol (as preservative) 0.02 mL (2% v/v), water for injection q.s. Sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH.
